You wrote a book. Now what?

So. You wrote a book. Now, what? It’s a glorious feeling, isn’t it? But is it ready? Is it polished and clean to be published? No? Then, what are you waiting for?

It is always good to have another set of eyes to look over your work. Here’s where a good editor comes in to play. An editor can spot the things you missed when you did your own self-edits:  missing and misspelled words, inconsistencies, plot holes, redundancies and things that you thought made sense, but actually doesn’t.

A good editor will go line by line by line, to ensure that your story flows fluidly. Good editors will make comments on what they think works and not work. A good editor will make suggestions to you, the author, and it’s up to you to either approve or reject those suggestions. It is, after all, your story.

Here at C. M. Wright’s Author Services, we have professional editors that are also authors. So we know what the process of good editing entails to produce the best job possible and help other authors publish polished books.

Self-editing is all well and good, but it is not advised. Whether you are a new author trying to break into the business, or a seasoned published author, one of the most important tools you will need is having a great editor – or editors – under your belt.

Mistakes take the reader away from your story and can result with them putting your book down and never picking it back up; plus, it can cause readers to leave bad reviews. As authors, you want to engage your readers with your story, and having a flawless manuscript ready for publication is your number one priority.

So why not let us help you? We offer low prices on our editing packages and we also offer Proofreading. We even offer a sample edit of your own script. For every manuscript of 25,000 or more words, we’ll edit your first 1000 words for FREE. For every manuscript of less than 25,000 words, we’ll edit your first 500 words for FREE. Any works submitted for this sample must be at least 5000 words.
